VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE WAS RIGHT

The Antidote to the current cultural wave of toxic masculinity.

Maybe it was during the last presidential election, or maybe after Mike Pence became the Vice-President of the United States of America, that he offended the sensibilities of liberals and feminists everywhere when he said, in so many words:

     Because I’m a married man, I don’t date other women.

Okay, he didn’t go that far in his statements, but the meaning was there. It was a simple statement of policy that he does not go out to lunch alone with other women.

The media, fueled and egged on by reigning feminist leaders, went ballistic. “He’s a woman-hater, misogynistic, doesn’t trust women, blah,blah,blah.” You would have thought he suggested that women should no longer have the right to vote or drive an automobile.

Fast forward to the present apocalypse of sexual harassment, with its daily plethora of accusations, admissions, resignations, and shaming.  Republicans rejoicing as Democrats fall, Democrats doing cartwheels as Republicans fall. Politicians, news anchormen, movie producers, actors, athletes, and captains of industry are all dropping like flies.

The response of the media to all of this reminds me of the Apostle Paul’s words:

 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

I Timothy 6:3-5

Discussion surrounding the current outbreak of sexual harassment has included, but has not been confined to:

  • The need for more moral and ethical training in Congress and corporate America.
  • Harsher penalties for workplace sexual harassment.
  • The need to further emasculate all boys in the public school system. Males are just too “aggressive” by their very nature, and need to be “sensitized.”
  • The suspending of due process of law by “guilty until proven innocent” of the accused. One feminist interviewed on Fox News said it doesn’t matter if innocent men are ruined by false accusations, so long as men feel some of the oppression women have felt for centuries.
  • A woman running for political office back East ran on the platform “vote for me, I don’t have a (male organ).”
  • And finally, in the aggregate, “women are good (victims) and men are evil (predators).”

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 2 Timothy 3:13

Hypocrisy

The toxic masculinity on display in so many of these instances of sexual impropriety is something that has been promoted for decades by the liberal feminist left. Progressives defend with a religious zeal the feminist sacrament of Abortion, where no less than half of the babies murdered are female. The objectifying of women by men is sponsored by progressive feminist women who pose nude and defend it as an artistic first amendment right of free speech. Liberal progressive feminists were mute when Bill Clinton, decades ago, was a proven sexual predator. He received a free pass because he supported their agenda.

Biblical Propriety and Decorum

Back to our Vice-President. How much of the moral carnage our country is currently experiencing could have been avoided if we simply got back to old-fashioned, common sense and biblical standards of conduct in our society between men and women?

What Vice President Pence was advocating is simply some avoidance of compromising situations between members of the opposite sex, whether at the work place or the halls of Congress.  In all the shrill clamoring hysteria, there has been a deafening silence regarding our Vice-President’s stance. His biblical wisdom has surely been vindicated.

Biblical Masculinity

There is no need for society to further emasculate an already effeminate-leaning male population. The need is to get back to Bible standards of conduct between men and women, with both genders accepting their responsibility in this process. Yes, ladies, you have a responsibility in this as well. As one leader of Christian ladies recently said:

The liberal news media has become a platform for a lot of rebellious, self-willed screeching little girls to point fingers at everyone’s sins but their own. While I am sure there are male sexual predators who do prey on naïve young women, there is also such a thing as willful flirting and dressing provocatively to advance one’s career. If a girl is not going to act like a lady, she is giving a signal to men that she doesn’t want to be treated like one. In other words, if it’s not for sale- don’t put a sign up.

Men, especially Christian men, now is the time to step up and stand up for what is right and glorify our Savior, the greatest man among men, by modelling true biblical manhood and not giving in to the current cultural trend of toxic masculinity.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: Ephesians 5: 25-29

Or as Joab said to the military troops of Israel in the heat of battle:

Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the Lord do that which seemeth him good.

2 Samuel 10:12
